‘Just Be You Tiful’ – Rich Simmons
12th October – 3rd November 2012
An escapism from autism, it’s art that Rich Simmons dedicates his life to, commenting, “I really have a debt to art.” The anticipated show reflects Simmons’ articulate and dedicated hand to graffiti and its more beautiful side. In fact, beauty is the main character in this show; Simmons exploring beauty through glamour, beauty through fetish and the beauty of tattoos, articulating all of it through his own graffiti in his own signature style.
The show also highlights ‘Art Is The Cure’, a youth movement founded by Simmons that brings people together and encourages creativity. Notably, Simmons was the first street artist to paint the streets of Baku and the Princess of Azerbaijan is a huge fan and collector of his work. Pop art, comic book fonts, stencilling and versatility with the spray can mark Simmons’ work.
