Somewhat of a street art takeover will occur in Stavenger, Norway this year, for Nuart Festival, now in it’s 12th year. With a footfall known to reach 100,000 every week, Nuart is known as the ‘Cannes’ festival of the street art scene and is fast becoming one of the top five street art festivals for artists to be seen at.
Expect the billboard-hijacking activist, Ron English, the master of the letter, Eine and playful urban interventionists, The Wa to be on form and in action, as well as Saber, Aakash Nihilani, Dolk, Sickboy, Mobstr and the the calligraphiti of Amsterdam’s Niels Shoe Meulman. Guest speakers at the event include art author, Tristan Manco; gallerist, Elisa Carmichael; Evan Pricco from Juxtapoz magazine and many more. If you take your street and urban art seriously, this one is a major player in the festival scene – get to it – literally!
Artists take to the streets from 20th September, with the indoor show running at Tou Scene from 29th September to 19th November 2012
