Top 8 x LEGO® artworks

Creators of the coloured brick could never have imagined that LEGO®-mania would sweep across the globe 63 years after it was first invented. Thanks to many factors – the fast development of complex technology, toys that talk and robots that walk and probably socio-economic turmoil, we find solace of course, in that old friend of ours, nostalgia. Along with the joyous relief we find in Sonic the Hedgehog, Space Invaders, those punk-haired Trolls, Sylvanian Families and Hungry Hippos is that simplest of educational kids’ toys, LEGO®.

LEGO@ has not only now been carved out into Harry Potter’s world and Frank Lloyd Wright buildings (the architecture series is serious stuff) amongst other inconceivable feats, but even the hairstyles have developed – redheads, ponytails et al. Even beards grace LEGO® men and eyelashes LEGO® women. They’ve thought of everything. And celebrity following? Brad Pitt, David Beckham and even Will.i.am are all self-professed collectors, though we think the latter and fellow Black Eyed Peas band member probably took it a bit too far when they started wearing it (see below). C’mon. Now that’s just jumping on the bandwagon.

LEGO talk aside, it’s these artists that use LEGO in their artworks who’ve impressed us the most. Check out the best below.
